Hallux Valgus or Bunions, is a soft tissue deformity that develops over several years. The Bonfix spring shock absorbing system is introduced to treat this deformity by counteracting the forces.

 

The Bonfix implant binds the 1st and 2nd metatarsals with a spring shock absorber system that acts on both metatarsals in a predefined force allowing lateral and sagittal physiological motion between the two metatarsals during Gait. The implant’s two fixed anchors protect against bone erosion from the suture.

 

The addition of soft tissue release and medial capsule tightening allows correction of the deformity during surgery. The continuous spring action after surgery protects the correction and may restore the original tightness of the soft tissue at the base of the 1st MET.
